Alberta part III

Ya know, i never thought i'd be flying to Edmonton (ever) really.

I flew there on the 25th of December, for the third visit this year (things are better in 3's) and had a great time hanging out with my biker bear.

I was worried a little about how cold it might be, having heard that it might drop to minus 45 or something. It didn't get that cold, maybe minus 28 one evening or something, and the dry air sure makes a huge difference, making the cold not seem so bad. My beard froze up a few times, which was new for me. I was happy to have my winter beard on to keep me warm.

That's me, and that's the North Saskatchewan River in the background, all frozen over.

I'm looking forwards to the summer, and hope to be back there on the 'bike again... see my Bear, head out on some adventures together, and see some new things.

Happy 2009 to y'all.

Thought and Memory

another in the small series of Pomegranate paintings... ( a diptych )

I called this Thought and Memory, after the names of Oden's two ravens. It's acrylic on pre-stretched 12"x12" canvases, painted in December 2008, and now hanging on a wall in Alberta.
